Technical Information

 

The Road Cargo System (ROCARS) of the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) provides several service channels for the shippers, truck drivers and their agents to access ROCARS. The major service channels and the corresponding target users are tabulated below:

To create the XML file of Cargo Information for uploading to ROCARS through the Batch Upload Portal, please refer to the XML file Specification for Batch Upload for Shippers and Agents [RT04]. Please click Download if you want to get the templates for creating the XML file.

To adopt the System-to-System Interface of ROCARS, please refer to the Guidelines for Setting Up the System-to-System Interface for Exchanging Data with ROCARS [RT02]. Please establish the required computer application system according to the following 2 documents:

  1. (i) Implementation Instructions [RT01] ,
  2. (ii) Code Tables (v1.25) for use with the ROCARS Implementation Instructions .

The users of the System-to-System Interface shall be responsible for the costs of developing their own systems and establishing the data communication connection with C&ED.
